Security
Voxly is designed so that there is as little to attack as possible: no accounts, no developer servers holding your audio, and all voice processing happens on your device.
1. Architecture: local-first
- Keep the app updated. Install Voxly updates from Google Play promptly so you always have the latest security fixes.
- No accounts, no passwords. Voxly has no sign-in, so there are no credentials that could leak.
- On-device processing. Recording, voice effects, noise reduction, and speed changes run locally. Your audio is never transmitted to our infrastructure — because there is none.
- Android sandbox. The app runs inside Android's application sandbox; its private files are inaccessible to other apps, and local backup is disabled.
- Encrypted transport. The few network operations the app performs (ads, purchase checks, voice downloads for text-to-speech, feedback you submit) use encrypted HTTPS connections to Google services or, for feedback, our support channel.
2. Permissions are minimal
Voxly requests only what each feature needs: microphone access for recording, media-file access for picking audio, and internet access for ads, purchases, voices, and optional feedback. You can revoke any permission at any time in Android Settings; the related feature will simply stop working until you grant it again.
3. Your files stay yours
Files you save go to your own shared folders (Music/Voxly, Downloads). Sharing happens only through Android's system share sheet to the destination you choose. Uninstalling the app removes its private data; previously saved shared files stay until you delete them.
4. Delete your data
Because there is no account and no server copy, deletion is in your hands and is immediate:
- Delete saved audio from your music library or file manager.
- Uninstall Voxly to remove all of its on-device data and settings.
- For anything you sent us directly (such as a feedback message), email support.voxlyapp@gmail.com from the same address and we will delete it.
5. Third parties
Payments are processed entirely by Google Play (we never handle card data). Advertising, analytics, and crash reporting are provided by Google (AdMob, Firebase) under Google's security and privacy commitments. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Report a vulnerability
If you discover a security issue in Voxly, please tell us privately at support.voxlyapp@gmail.com with steps to reproduce it, and give us reasonable time to fix it before any public disclosure. Thank you for helping keep Voxly safe.
